PENNSYLVANIA STATE SOCIETY COLONIAL DAMES XVII CENTURY

The Pennsylvania State Society has been presented with many National Awards for the work of the chapters in raising money for scholarships, marking historical sites, or the submission of genealogical records for gifts to the Headquarters Museum, for the preservation of historic documents, and for service to Veterans to name a few.  We continue to promote the object of the National Society both within the chapters and in our community outreach and are proud to be part of the National Society Colonial Dames Seventeenth Century.

COLONIAL DAMES of XVII CENTURY

The National Society

The National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century is an organization of women, eighteen years of age or over, who are lineal descendants of an ancestor who lived and served prior to 1701 in one of the Original Colonies in the geographical area of the present United States of America.

Our members are devoted to preserving the memory of those who settled in the United States of America prior to 1701.

The National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, as a non-profit organization, was established on July 15, 1915, with its headquarters in Washington D.C.  Constructed in 1884, the headquarters building holds historical significance and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Our work is dedicated to upholding and continuing the values and ideals of our ancestors, the preservation of historic sites and records, promotion of heraldry and coats of arms, and support of education through various activities on the local, state, and national levels. Through these projects, we acknowledge and honor those individuals whose enduring legacy of virtue, courage and patriotism formed this great nation.
